Iagos Revenge to Othello - 1892 Words

Revenge is the main theme in the play Othello by William Shakespeare and it is portrayed from the character Iago. Through Iago’s soliloquies he reveals his horrible doings. Iago wants to get revenge on Othello and his loved one Desdemona. The reason why he wants to get revenge at Othello is because he promotes Cassio to Lieutenant. Iago takes advantage of his reputation â€Å"Honesty Iago† to manipulate other characters in the play to get revenge from Othello. Iago is aware that he can easily manipulate the people around him to get revenge from Othello that he does not stop and think about the harm he is causing. This quote makes him look brilliant because he knows that Roderigo has a lot of money and will do anything to be with Desdemona. I agree when D. Madison says, â€Å"In Othello, he knows just what to say to sound innocent. Iago is the ultimate master of manipulation†. Iago uses his knowledge wisely and uses it to manipulate others for his own satisfaction, and knows how to manipulate them because he has analyzed them before, and that is what makes him so good at being evil. Iago is fully aware what he is doing and has no sympathy for anyone like he says himself; â€Å"And what’s he then that says play the villain, When this advice is free I give, and honest† (2.3.299). Samuel Taylor Coleridge says that, â€Å"Motive-hunting† means that Iago is looking for something and trying to achieve his goal. Everyone knows that Iago’s goal is to get revenge at Othello, and I agree that it is true what Iago is trying to do. Every year tens of thousands of marine mammals are killed all over the world, with over twenty thousand small cetaceans killed in Japanese waters alone (Butterworth et al., 2013). These small cetaceans include various species of small whales, many dolphin species and some porpoises. They are killed in various manors, ranging from accidental ship strikes to the more morally controversial yearly drive hunts. As you may know nearly all cetaceans use some sort of sound production in order to navigate waters, communicate with other individuals and groups of their respective species as well as capture prey (Brownell et al., 2008). An example of this is the variety sounds produced by bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) when exploring and foraging. These types of noises vary from echolocation, whistles and pops according to Nowacek (2005) which aid in location of prey, and communication when hunting in groups. Bottlenose dolphins are one of the most well-known cetacean species (Bearzi et al., 2008). They inhabit various marine habitats across the world including just about any region with a warm-temperate to tropical ocean climate (Reeves et al., 2002). Just like many other cetaceans they are well known for inhabiting coastal areas, which makes them particularly vulnerable to human interaction and threats they wouldn’t necessarily face on the coast of uninhabited lands (Wilson et a l., 2008). However, their strength, the creation and distribution of a global brand, is allowed to foster under this manufacturing strategy, as hey focus on their core competencies, and out source their production. Adidas is currently enjoying the fastest growth of any brand domestically, with a market share of 6% and revenues of $500 million. They have been shielded from bad publicity by the two Goliath’s of the industry, Nike and Reebok, and are reaping the rewards substantially. They have adjusted their manufacturing strategy, from a vertical operation in Germany in the 60’s and 70’s, to an outsourcing focus today throughout Asia. Unlike the big two, they do not have a code of conduct, and their factories are considered to be the worst in the industry. It is just a matter of time before they are exposed, with an underground swelling of negativity already occurring today.
